After a little trip to a newly refurbished & renamed pub in Shifnal, I soon realised how I dislike people who assume they fall into the upper class social sector because they talk about Europe and believe their knowledge of food provides an insight to their soul. As a food and drink lover, I can understand why people will be passionate about both. But please, do not swap passion for arrogance.
We wonder why our pubs are shutting. Why people buy a crate of beer and stay in. Being Charged over £3 a pint just because the names changed in a place is a disgrace.
Some people need to stand back, look around and realise, we're all in Telford. I doubt I will step foot in this 'basserie' ever again, mostly due to the fact, I like being in Telford. Escapism is not on my agenda.
And ill end this entry with four very important words:
Long live pork scratchings.
