Park Live 2011

It's been a little quiet on the old blogging front for me this last month. The problem is I want my posts to have as much substance as possible. The idea of doing a post a week about what I've done since my last one, a week previous, isn't my idea of stimulating reading.

Sometimes, I will attend something that is worth a few words. For the last few years Telford Town Park has seen an afternoon full of local bands performing FREE to the public. This year was no exception. A total of eight bands graced the impressive stage in the middle of 'the bowl', an impressive vision on its own. Sadly, I was on my tod, and stayed for only three of the acts, those were; People Are Things, Give Chase and Broken Again. From only watching those I realised the crowd were in for a real mix of musical genres. The first were a cocktail of rock and indie, Give Chase were rock, trance, dub and indie and Broken Again were heavy rock (when i say heavy, i bloody mean it). I think Give Chase took the biscuit for me, completely unique (as you can guess by the list after their name above). The mass of audience members who were obvious fans spoke volumes. It was a complete eye opener, as not a massive fan of cross genres in the musical capacity, this was really rather refreshing. I should also point out the talent these lads had, vocals of the lead singer were spot on and the dancey/trancy backing tracks sounded awesome together with the rest of the band on stage. I thoroughly enjoyed it, for all who will actually read this, ill pop a link to their Facebook page at the bottom. They are 100% worth a gander.

For any Telfordians reading this, be sure to attend next year’s Park Live.
